Liposomal Delivery Systems
Liposomes are made up of a lipid bilayer with an aqueous core and are attractive candidates for drug delivery, as they can encapsulate both, hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs. However, traditional methods to manufacture liposomes are time consuming, labour intensive, and difficult to develop and scale up.
Precision NanoSystems has demonstrated the benefits of microfluidic mixing in overcoming the aforementioned challenges for liposome manufacturing and nanoparticle synthesis. Furthermore, the technology incorporated into the Benchtop instrument has enabled researchers to quickly, reproducibly, and systematically tune nanoparticles for size and composition for application specific benefits.
